Lesbos

Lesbos also known as Mytilene, is the third biggest island in Greece. It is situated in the North East of the Aegean sea. It has it's own airport which services both international and domestic flights, to and from major European cities as well as Athens and Thessaloniki. The island is also connected to the port of Athens, Pireaus by boat on a daily basis.

Mytilene is the main town, an ancient thriving city of 38,000 ihabitants. It has good infrastructure and a big, modern hospital. It has museums and many attractions such as the Theophilos painting museum. Local produce including fresh fish a key feature of traditional mytilenian cooking make the island THE food destination in Greece.

It's countryside and beaches are peaceful, away from the beaten path. You will be impressed by the stunning scenery of it's eastern coast. The olive groves mingle with the pine trees and the Aegean sea to create a canvas of nature. The views across the straits to Turkey are wonderful. The beaches are pristine and have crystal clear waters with a distinctive blue colour, the Bleu de Mytilene.
